Living expenses (e.g., accommodation) and travel expenses are not covered by the participation costs. See the Budget Simulator Assistance page for help estimating these costs.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FUNDING
The Global MINDS programme is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) programme. There are two types of scholarships available for each cohort:
- Ten full scholarships that cover the participation costs and an additional stipend throughout the duration of the programme. All students on scholarships will receive a pre-payment of €2400 in August (shortly before the beginning of their first semester, for expenses related to students’ travels etc.) , and a monthly grant of €1300 per month for 24 months.
- Fifteen partial scholarships cover the participation costs.
In order to be considered for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, applicants should include a request for funding and relevant justification in their supporting statement. Please see “Applications” for detailed instructions on how to apply.
***Please be reminded that students who have already received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in the past are not eligible to apply for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for Global-MINDS. However, if you have received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship before 2021, please get in touch with us for futher information.***
The Selection Committee will decide on awarding scholarships based on the result of the evaluation of the applications. Please see “Applications” for details on how applications are evaluated.
Self-funded students may be able to avail of other financial support, depending on their chosen mobility path. Please see below for external funding opportunities. For further information on fees and payment of fees, please consult the pages of the Student Fees Office at the University of Limerick. We can also offer additional funds for special needs.
EXTERNAL FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
If you do not qualify for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, below is a list of other stipend possibilities. These stipends are in no way connected to the Global-MINDS Master programme. The information included here is presented to assist self-funded applicants in finding possible other sources of funding for their studies. It is by no means guaranteed that you get these stipends. Financial constraints of universities, their regulations, or deadlines might make it impossible to get additional support. The decision to enroll in Global-MINDS should be based on financial planning that is independent of stipends. Any stipend you can receive can obviously improve the situation, but nobody should put themselves in a situation where they rely on receiving an additional stipend. The Global-MINDS team will endeavor to keep information and links on this page current, but cannot guarantee regular maintenance of this page.

Students who don’t receive Erasmus Mundus scholarships can submit an application to ISCTE-IUL and SWPS for Erasmus+ grants for their internship (depending on location). Please contact the local international offices to learn more about this possibility and to check whether you are eligible.
